Very limited space, an uneven floor, out-of-true walls and to make matters worse, a metal spiral staircase in the way... Rupert has a gift for seeing beyond the problem and cleverly replicated and expanded out the shape of the staircase to create an octagonal design that ergonomically worked brilliantly. It also worked visually, the work tops being in slate reflecting the ironwork of the spiral. The handmade units are beautiful to look at and use thanks to exceptional joinery with finishes that are tough and long-lasting. Rupert created a kitchen that is a joy to be in, combining practicality, cutting-edge design and overcoming every one of the challenges, so it was especially reassuring that the project came in on time and on budget! There were a number of trades involved from electricians to plumbers and Rupert co-ordinated their work perfectly. Rupert Tozer has carried out three projects for our house: wall mounted shelves, cupboards and radiator cover for a study, a settle style coat rack with seating below for a hall, and a living room unit comprising cupboard with shelves above; all were original designs by him based on our initial general instruction. He had to contend with the lockdown for the study project. His attention to detail at the initial design stage was impressive, going the extra mile when we required minor changes. The standard of his and his team’s workmanship was excellent, matching the design perfectly, and overcoming those practical problems that are always encountered when fitting new units into an older house. He kept to his time schedules, and to his quotations. They worked neatly in the house and everything was left tidy on completion. We worked with Rupert to create bespoke wardrobes for our bedroom in our new flat in February 2021. I have to say what an absolute dream he was to work with and how delighted we are with our wardrobes. Rupert is extremely friendly and professional, he helps guide you through the different options available so that you can make the right decision for you in terms of balancing price with quality of materials etc. The whole process was smooth and speedy, which was important as we had absolutely no storage without them and were basically living out of suitcases! The wardrobes are completely bespoke so we were able to get exactly what we wanted, they're modern and stylish! I recently had Rupert design and build me a personalised DJ mixing table. Firstly I was impressed during the design stage in regards to his ability to understand my requirements conceptually and transition these into a piece of furniture that was both practical and aesthetically pleasing especially given the countless amounts of bespoke joinery that I was asking for. Furthermore he managed to deliver the table in a timely manner despite the UK entering its 3rd lockdown at the start of January and combined this with great pricing especially given the customisation and high quality material requests that I had put in. He understands what you want straight away and works out the best way to get that while considering all the other factors. Rupert is extremely good at explaining the details in way that is understandable. Incredible attention to detail and the quality is superb.
